Dr Ikenze has been practicing integrative health since 1985.

She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1978. Dr Ikenze completed her residency and fellowship in General Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital in Boston under the auspices of Harvard University.

As a new physician she became interested in the history of health and healing in the context of the psychosocial development of mankind, with a special interest in the place of women as nurturers, caretakers and healers. In her research and practice she sought ways of treating the whole patient as opposed to addressing symptoms. This led her to a conviction and understanding of the relationship between physiological, psychological and spiritual health. This new found understanding led to the formal study of homeopathy. In 1985 Dr Ikenze began her life long practice and study of homeopathy in Montreal and received her homeopathic diploma from the British Institute of Homeopathy in 1993.

Dr Ikenze continues to incorporate the integration of allopathic (orthodox conventional western medicine) and homeopathic medicine with herbal and nutritional treatments to address patient’s spiritual, mental, emotional and physical unity.

In 1990 Dr Ikenze established the Elizabeth Medical Center focused on pediatrics, women’s health, family medicine and homeopathy in suburban San Francisco’s Marin County.

Much of her professional and personal life has been devoted to educating and empowering men and women, not only to recognize the extreme importance of their positions at home and in family, but also to become more knowledgeable and self-reliant in fostering a better understanding of their own physical and emotional health in a medical system that is becoming increasingly impersonal.

Dr. Ikenze is strongly in support of efforts to bring homeopathy into the mainstream of the medical field and is tireless in her efforts to educate other physicians about the efficacy and underlying principles of homeopathy. She is the author of Menopause and Homeopathy – A Guide for Women In Midlife. She is featured in various publications and speaks frequently on various topics to audiences around the world.

In 2009, Dr. Ikenze collaborated with her daughter to develop Mamatini, an organic herbal drink specifically designed to meet the needs of pregnant and nursing moms. Mamatini helps women maintain the health, confidence, energy, and strong milk supply they need to raise a healthy baby.
