Biography

Dr. Ifeoma Ikenze     Dr. Ifeoma Ikenze was born in Nigeria and came to the United States as a student. She received her B.A. from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA and her M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, NY. She then went on to do a residency in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital in Boston under the auspices of Harvard University. She received her homeopathic diploma from the British Institute of Homeopathy.

As a new physician, she became interested in the history of health and healing, in the context of the psychosocial development of mankind. She was especially interested in the place of women as nurturers, caretakers, and healers. In her studies and in her practice she searched for ways of treating patients – not just to cure a disease, but to heal the whole person. During this search she discovered a book entitled In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message, which lead her to a conviction of the relationship of spiritual health to physical, mental and emotional health. This conviction in turn lead her to a study of homeopathy. In 1985 she traveled to Canada where she studied at the House of Life, a Naturopathic clinic. There, she began her intense study of homeopathy and natural medicine. Since then her practice has matured to incorporate herbal, homeopathic, and nutritional treatments, as well as orthodox medical treatments, in accordance with her belief in the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical unity of the individual.

Since 1990, Dr. Ikenze has worked as medical director of the Elizabeth Medical Clinic – a practice in pediatrics, family medicine, and homeopathy in San Anselmo, CA. Much of her professional and personal life has been devoted to educating and empowering both men and women, not only to recognize their position of extreme importance in the home, family, and society, but also to become more knowledgable and self-reliant in fostering their own physical and emotional health in a medical system that is becoming increasingly impersonal. She is the author of Menopause and Homeopathy: A Guide for Women in Midlife. She is also quoted as a consultant on homeopathic issues in at least three books written by other professionals.

Dr. Ikenze is strongly in support of efforts to bring homeopathy into the mainstream of the medical field and is tireless in her efforts to educate other physicians about the efficacy and underlying principles of homeopathy. In May of 1993 she received an award fom City Woman magazine in San Francisco, in recognition of her work in health care. In 1997 she was featured in San Francisco Focus magazine as one of the Bay Area's best physicians.

In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message     Finding the book In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message marked a special turning point in Dr. Ikenze's professional and personal life. The following words of the author spoke strongly to her and have been an inspiration for her work helping individuals and families regain and maintain their health and happiness:

"It is the sacred duty of every human spirit to apply any knowledge for the development in Creation, for the progress and happiness of all those who are connected with him or who just come in contact with him. Then his spirit profits greatly from it, but never otherwise!"
